1.
a) General info
This is the second part of the first level. It can be played separatedly from other parts. No
objects from previous parts are needed.
Levels were tested through on PC and all found bugs were removed (OK,maybe some illegal water slopes
are still there, but in areas that are not important to go - usually in some distant corners), but
there can still be some. Engine bugs are explained at Level information section.
MAC users, please read the Level information section for info.

WARNING!: CRYSTAL CAVERNS LEVEL HAS ONE VERY UNSTABLE ROOM. I DON'T KNOW WHY. THIS IS A PART
WHERE THE TRANSPARENT BLUE STATUE IS. LARA CAN'T SHOOT THERE. DON'T TRY TO USE A FLARE THERE,
BECAUSE YOU MAY GET STUCK! DON'T SHOOT AND DON'T USE FLARES IN THAT AREA AND NOTHING WILL HAPPEN.

In the game, there are cut scenes. If you missed some words just look in the other readme
(Hints.txt) for the scenario. The dialogues are also in german and french.
If you'll be stuck, there is also hint section in other readme (Hints.txt)
Take note that the Hints.txt file contains SPOILERS!

b) Gameplay info
Those levels are very different: from linear to nonlinear, from interesting to boring (depends on
what you like). There is a lot of new or modified puzzles but also some of the old ones :). Some
actions that normally shouldn't be possible are possible here. So if you think that Lara could
possibly do something, try that. There are also some thinking puzzles.
Some secrets are quite hard and they can't be always accesible, because you're unable to go back.
To be able to open a bonus area in the last level, 4 golen proteuses must be found. You don't
need secrets for finish the game.

2.
Replace/copy the files from .zip(s) to TReditor directory. Don't forget to backup the files
that are going to be replaced.

english.dat and script.dat go to TRLE folder
Everything .TR4 goes to DATA folder
Every numbered .wav, (like 009.wav, 097.wav,...) goes to AUDIO folder

If you downloaded WADs:
Every .wav starting with ss (like ssvmd1,...) goes to SOUND/SAMPLES folder
Put wad files into GRAPHICS/WADS folder
Compile the levels jama2 and jamafin

If you downloaded MP3s:
PC users: make a temporal folder, put there mp3s and run startme.exe. Put wavs to AUDIO folder.
MAC users: just rename .mp3 files to .wav files

At the end you must have those files:
   english.dat
   script.dat
AUDIO/ original wavs + wavs that came with Experiment2 levels (some will overwrite originals)
   DATA/jama.tr4
        jama2.tr4
	jamafin.tr4
	jamatemp.tr4

In TR4 setup turn on FXvolumetric effect and bumpmaps (if you downloaded bumpmaps version or
wads).
Choose New Game and start Forgotten cave.

   readme.txt - this file
hint.txt - cutscene text (english, german and french) and hints readme

When you'll reach the end of the game, it will crash to desktop or load the tutorial level if
tut.tr4 is in the data folder.

3.
The story will be revealed in-game. But for the start:
Lara is on "the vacation". She enjoys her new small swimming-pool. Then the buttler cames out
and tells her, that the phone is ringing.
On the other side of the telephone wire is a well known archaeologist, telling her that he had
some problems on the excavation site; it is located behind the mountain range of the Italian
Alpes. The excavators found a hidden mine. They're reporting of sudden fear and bad feeling when
near it. And he felt the same.
He knows the history of Lara and her strange adventures. So he asks her if she would like to
explore the mine and find the sorce of that unpleasant feeling, because he wants to continue the
excavation.
Well, Lara is on vacation, ofcourse, but her adventurer spirit isn't...
She visits the caller, gets some informations and is given a key to the mine. Archaeologists
had closed it to be sure that no one goes in anymore.
Lara borrows a jeep and after some hours she reaches the place. She opens the entrance to the
mine. Dark and... dark. But some lights still work. Whell, what now, there seems to be no path,
just some bats. After some investigation she finds a hidden switch that lovers the fence to the
lower levels of the mine. She finds also a hidden message of the mineowner, warning people of
this place. Now, this is interesting. Lara now won't stop. So something must be under the
elevator! After playing with dynamite, searching for hidden paths and making the elevator work,
Lara has two options: leave the area or go deeper into the mine. Ups, suddenly there is no way
back!

So, what are those strange caves with shining stones?

4.
LEVEL NAME: Forgotten Cave / Crystal Caverns / The Temple / Premonition
LEVEL NUMBER: Level 1, Part 2
SECRETS: 4/2/2/3
AUDIO: You'll need included audiotracks + originals.

MAC users:
Each level could load separatedly, so I guess also leveljumps should work.
Errors found (not on all MACs): Tom files can't be found. Levels constructed from wads won't
load. - I suggest you to download compiled levels.
You must know that the levels weren't played through on MAC. So there is a possibility that they
could crash at some point (let's hope they won't. :)). If that happens, you can mail me for a
bypass level.

BUGS: Only some minor texture problems; and sometimes at some angles the rooms or some items
dissapear. Also sometimes camera won't follow Lara, that usually happens if Lara turns too fast
around the corner or when she's climbing around the pillar. Just press the camera break button.
Ofcourse also that annoying engine bug is present, when Lara stops moving and you have to turn
her around to make her playable again. That usually happens infront of some deadly river or floor
(lava, poisonous fluid,...). So don't forget to save in those areas, before jumping across...
You may also find that sometimes Lara refuses to climb a ladder/climbable wall or even jump to
the higher platform if pressing action before jump. So keep jumping then press action and
eventually she will grab/climb up.

Forgotten cave: Maybe you'll find something strange with one of my water rooms.
It was the only possible solution I was able to find for wanted effect to occure. This bug won't
cause any damage. And if Lara dissapears, just press the jump/swim button.
The second bug has to do with the second rope. You can be stucked in the mid-air if trying to go
to the places, you shouldn't, so be careful and save before using any ropes! That is caused by
modified door puzzle, I think.
Sometimes flare or fire ghost appears (flame withouth any reason), doesn't affect the gameplay.

Crystal Caverns: There is a very small possibility (1%), that at some point in the game you see
two Laras. I hope that won't happen, but if it does, please ignore that as it doesn't affect the
gameplay.
There is also a small possibility, that level will crash if you'll shoot near one door that
should be closed by now. This is at the transparent blue statue area. Just close the door and the
bug will be gone. Generally: if you are able to see the blue statue, don't shoot! That's why Lara
is unable to shoot in that area. Think of this like some sort of sacred place. And even more
important: DON'T LIGHT A FLARE!!!

I would like to thank to all the creators of these great tools I used. Some I was using all
the time, some were used only for a specific part used in the game, but without them this level
wouldn't be possible. Thank you!
I would also like to thank to all the people at Ezboard, Mprager and Larashome forums. But
still there are some, who I want to give extra thanx for some small but very valuable
informations: eTux, MagPlus, Miguel, Palopique, Skateboard Kid, Storm Chaser and everyone who
once contributed in The big mutant thread.

Special thanks:
To Gerty for being patient with me and playing through Forgotten cave demo a couple of times.
To Kristina for a big moral support and more.
To Oxy for beleving in me and "driving" with me through all of my moods and sharing her happy
thoughts. Hvala.:)
To Torry for guiding me to larashome forum to find there a lovely Bex. :)
Bex, I own you big!

Closest-to-heart thank you:
Pimpernel, I'll never forget you.
